 1   General Category / General Discussion / June 22nd HOA Meeting  on: June 23, 2009, 05:33:42 PM

I thought the meeting was on the 23rd and was disappointed when I realized I had missed the meeting.  What was discussed, proposed, and/or decided as it relates to the neighborhood?  Did anyone bring up the fact that the street lights are still not fixed and repaired from January???   Maybe someone could place the minutes to the meeting on-line.  Feedback appreciated.

James

I tend to agree with the homeowners who have endured rigors of many frightening Halloween nights(not from the costumes). A means to maintain controlled safety is unmistakable.

Speaking to a larger issue is this and all other neighborhood policies need to reflect the consensus of the residents, and not just the preference or choosing of one or a few. Our voting process is in dire need of revision, as correctly pointed out by President Bankston at Nov 13, 2007 meeting, having quorum to properly vote is nearly impossible.

I submit as a motion for discussion and vote at the next meeting that vote be obtained via e-mail. Each lot must be registered to one e-mail, and the Halloween vote on an annual basis is a prime circumstance for this usage. We all have valid points of view, but majority rule needs to prevail. This might be the way to accomplish this.

I certainly feel the same way you do about Halloween.  Last year was horrible and I had a rough time explaining to my child, who was just almost 5, why there were no trick-or-treaters.  We also own a daycare center and there were alot of kids who wanted to come to our house but were turned away by the police officers.  The parents of some of those kids said that they cried because they couldn't come by our house.  I understand that the roads in the subdivision get too congested, but to hire two police officers to stand at the entrance was a waste  of money.  They could have put them to better use by letting them patrol the streets to make sure everyone was parking on only one side of the street and no one parking in yards.  Halloween in once a year!  I also have a problem with the fact that with all of the new houses that were built and occupied between last Halloween and now, there was not another chance to vote on this issue.  There are new families in this subdivision that are probably unaware that we are "closed" to outsiders.

ow the house that I was referring to before - first one on the right as we enter the subdivision - has burned.  How long before this ugly eyesore will be dealt with?  Is there anything that we can do with our Home Owner Association?  I will be more than happy to call officials in Winder.  Just let me know.  thanks.

I noticed that someone cut the yard to the house on the main drive.  However, the weeds are still there especially around the house.  What can we do to hold this builder to the same standards that everyone else is held?  With the recent rains - the grass is growing - but it does little good to just cut the grass and not weed-eat the other areas.  Thanks

I have a property listed in the subdivision and I need to get in touch with the Secretary or Treasurer of the HOA. I received an invoice but there isn't a contact number nor is there one posted on this site.  The property I have listed is set to close toward the end of the month and I need to get the amount due to the HOA. Thank,Kimberly

Our children were very disappointed with the small number of visitors for Halloween last year.  I realize it can be inconvenient, and adult trick or treaters are irritating.  However, I could not help but feel sorry for all of the children who look forward to trick or treating here every year...

I would suggest that the HOA continue our NEW Halloween Policy, but consider providing each Home Owner with additional passes (did we all just receive 2 passes this year?) that we may give out to our family & friends at our discretion?
